E&O insurance is mandatory under the Real Estate Trading Act of Newfoundland and Labrador. Real estate work carries meaningful liability exposure, and claims happen more often than many REALTORS® expect—even for experienced professionals.
Since 2008, NLAR—together with the Manitoba, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia associations and the Prince Edward Island Real Estate Association—has provided affordable E&O liability protection through the Real Estate Insurance Alliance of Canada (REIA).
